Losing a Job Can Be Hard

February 18th, 2012

When I was pregnant with my second child my husband and I decided it made more sense for me to stay at home than work. Between daycare expenses, gas prices, and other commuting costs it was not worth me working outside the home. Two weeks after giving birth to our new baby, my husband comes home with the news he has been laid off from his job. This could not have come at a worst time. Here we were with two kids and neither of us had a job. Fortunately, he would be receiving unemployment but that was a fraction of his original pay. We decided to get debt management advice to see what our options were. They made us feel better about the future and helped us see that we could make it. There were very familiar with our situation as they had counseled many families just like ours. They were our saving grace.
